At Controlux, we supply and install a wide range of premium electric blinds in Esher and surrounding areas of South London, to suit all homeowners and their unique styles.
Esher is a place where architectural heritage meets contemporary ambition. From elegant Georgian villas and Edwardian family homes to cutting-edge new builds in Claremont Park or riverside developments near Sandown, Esher’s homes share one challenge: how to manage natural light effectively without compromising on design, energy efficiency, or convenience.
At Controlux, we specialise in bespoke electric blinds in Esher, delivering motorised shading systems that don’t just respond to your home; they elevate it. With over 35 years of technical and aesthetic expertise across Surrey and South West London, we combine advanced automation with timeless design to deliver shading that performs, protects, and enhances
Electric blinds, also known as motorised or automated blinds, are powered by discreet, whisper-quiet motors and can be operated via smartphone, voice assistant, remote control or home automation systems. They eliminate the need for manual adjustment and enable seamless control of daylight, heat, and privacy.
In premium residential areas like Esher, where property values exceed the UK average by 220%, homeowners are increasingly turning to smart features like electric blinds, not just for luxury, but for measurable performance, sustainability, and security.
In essence, electric blinds are no longer a premium extra; they’re foundational to intelligent, sustainable living.
Esher’s homes offer a rich variety of architectural challenges:
Controlux electric blinds offer a scalable, design-led solution that suits everything from listed period properties to ultra-modern builds ensuring comfort and control without visual compromise.
Electric blinds don’t just look good. they deliver real-world benefits backed by research.
Energy Efficiency: According to the Energy Saving Trust, up to 18% of heat loss occurs through windows. Automated blinds that close at night or on cold days can reduce heating demand by up to 20% annually, particularly in glazed extensions or open-plan spaces.
In summer, CIBSE research (2024) shows that smart blinds can cut cooling energy use by up to 40%, particularly in homes with large, south-facing windows or roof glazing.
Interior Protection: Modern interiors are increasingly defined by high-spec finishes, from hardwood flooring to bespoke joinery and fine art. UV rays fade and damage these investments. Smart blinds with solar-reflective fabrics reduce UV penetration by up to 90%, protecting finishes while maintaining light levels.
Enhanced Wellbeing: Studies published in the Journal of Building and Environment show that automated circadian lighting patterns, where blinds open with sunrise and close at sunset, improve sleep quality and reduce stress. For families, professionals, and retirees in Esher alike, this small shift can create a big impact on wellbeing.
We offer a wide range of electric blind systems that can be customised by fabric, mechanism, opacity, and control method. Whether you’re fitting out a heritage refurbishment or a high-spec new build, we provide:
