Create the Perfect Modern Living Environment with Controlux

At Controlux, we specialise in the design, supply, and installation of blinds for bi-fold doors in Epsom, helping homeowners and property developers enhance privacy, light control, and thermal performance without compromising on style.

With over 35 years of experience serving Epsom and the wider South West London area, we understand that bi-fold doors present both a design opportunity and a technical challenge. Our expert team delivers tailored blind solutions that not only complement your interior aesthetic but function seamlessly with the unique mechanics of bi-fold door systems.

Why Bi-Fold Doors Need a Specialised Blinds Approach

Bi-fold doors have become a defining feature of modern home design, flooding interiors with natural light and creating fluid indoor-outdoor living. But with that architectural openness comes specific challenges:Controlling harsh sunlight at peak hoursMaintaining privacy without blocking viewsManaging internal temperature year-roundEnsuring easy access and door functionalityStandard blinds often fail to address these concerns. That’s where Made to Measure blinds for bi-folds come in; designed with both functionality and flexibility in mind.

Bi-Fold Door Blinds: What Makes Them Different?

Unlike traditional windows, bi-folds cover expansive areas and are constantly in use. This demands blinds that:

Fit neatly within or above the door frame
Allow full operation of each door panel
Offer tilt, open, and retract options
Enhance thermal and visual comfort year-round

At Controlux, we supply an extensive range of custom blinds specifically engineered for bi-fold systems, including:

Perfect Fit Blinds
Integral Blinds (between glass panes)
Pleated Thermal Blinds
Motorised Screen Blinds
Smart Track Roller Systems

Each solution is custom-built for your door configuration, layout, and lifestyle.

The Controlux Difference: Blinds Built for Performance and Longevity

Light and Glare Management: Large expanses of glass can lead to excessive glare, especially in south-facing Epsom homes. Our screen and pleated blinds feature solar-reflective backings and UV-filtering fabrics that reduce glare without plunging the room into darkness.
Energy Efficiency: According to the Energy Saving Trust, up to 18% of a home’s heat loss can occur through doors and large glass panels. Our blinds for bi-folds act as an insulating barrier, helping regulate internal temperatures and reduce energy costs particularly during extreme summer and winter periods
Space Efficiency: Traditional curtain rails and bulky blind systems often interfere with door function. Our low-profile tracks and integrated blind systems allow full movement of each panel, preserving the minimalist appeal of your bi-folds.
Smart Home Integration: Motorised blinds for bi-folds can be integrated with smart home systems, offering scheduled operation, remote control, and voice activation; ideal for modern Epsom homes and luxury renovations.

Real-World Applications: How Epsom Homes Use Blinds for Bi-Folds

Our clients in Epsom often use bi-fold door blinds in the following ways:

Kitchens and Dining Areas: Where light shifts dramatically throughout the day, motorised blinds offer quick adaptation to changing conditions without interrupting daily routines.
Living Rooms: Blindscreens help reduce screen glare on TVs and devices, making spaces more functional during daylight hours.
Garden Rooms and Extensions: Integral or pleated blinds support privacy in rooms with high exposure to neighbouring properties, especially in newer developments.
Heritage Renovations: Faux wood or fabric-wrapped blinds help balance contemporary glazing with traditional architectural detailing.

Which Blind Is Right for Your Bi-Folds?

Perfect Fit Blinds: Clip-in solution with no drilling. Ideal for doors in regular use. Available in pleated, roller, or Venetian styles.

Integral Blinds: Sealed between the glass panes. Operated magnetically or motorised. Ideal for low-maintenance modern homes.

Pleated Blinds: Compact and thermally efficient. Available in Duette honeycomb fabrics for insulation.

Roller Blinds on Tracks: Smooth operation across wide spans. Available with side channels for light sealing.

Motorised Options: Operate blinds with a button, app, or voice control. Seamlessly integrate with home automation systems.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently purchased an Awning from Ben and Lucy at Controlux and the experience from start to finish was excellent. The quality of the workmanship was first class and support and service to make this happen faultless. Ben and Alex fitted the unit efficiently and did a very neat job and explained all about the operation of the Awning before tidying up and leaving. I would thoroughly recommend this company due to the dedication and professionalism of the team.
