At Controlux, we supply and install a wide range of premium blinds in Putney and surrounding areas of South-West London to suit all homeowners and their unique styles.
Controlux brings over 35 years of industry experience to Putney homes. From top-floor mansion flats to ground-floor garden flats and big family homes near the park, we see the same patterns again and again. A high-quality blind here usually needs to deliver four key things.
Thermal Performance That You Actually Feel
For Blinds Putney projects we pay close attention to orientation and frame type.
You don’t need a thermal camera to notice the difference. Rooms simply feel less “up and down” as the day goes on.
Glare And Light Control For Hybrid Working
Hybrid working isn’t going away. Recent UK surveys put hybrid workers at roughly a quarter to half of the workforce, with higher rates in professional roles that cluster in London.
In Putney that means:
For these Blinds Putney setups we tend to favour:
It’s about creating light that feels calm on your eyes and your screen, not just dark.
Heritage And Style Sensitivity In Putney
Putney’s character streets are a big reason people move here. You’ve got:
Drop in something that looks like a generic office blind and it jars straight away.
We normally guide clients towards:
The aim is simple. When visitors walk in, they notice how good the room feels overall, not “oh, new blinds”.
Ease Of Use And Smart Integration
Putney homes often have multiple blinds in one space. Think three-panel sliders plus a rooflight, or a bay combined with side windows. If they’re awkward to reach or annoying to operate, people stop using them properly.
So for many Blinds Putney installs we suggest:
That way the blinds become part of how the home runs each day rather than just something you only touch on very sunny days.
We offer a wide selection of blinds in Putney, each suited to specific interior goals and architectural styles.
Roller Blinds: Minimalist, modern, and ideal for small or large window expanses like glazed balconies in modern flats. Available in blackout, screen, or thermal fabrics for added performance.
Roman Blinds: Elegant and timeless, Roman blinds suit period homes and characterful interiors. Choose from hundreds of fabrics to match your design aesthetic.
Venetian/Wooden Blinds: Perfect for light modulation, privacy, and classic appeal. Available in wood, aluminium, or faux wood.
Vertical Blinds: Excellent for large windows, patio doors, and commercial properties. Flexible light control and simple maintenance.
Pleated and Cellular Blinds: Highly energy-efficient and ideal for temperature-sensitive rooms and bay windows. Duette® honeycomb technology traps air and provides insulation.
Motorised and Smart Blinds: Operate your blinds via remote, app, or voice. Integrates with smart home ecosystems for automated comfort.
Blinds are no longer just functional accessories, they are design-defining features. In Putney, where many homeowners are blending heritage character with modern interiors, blinds play a crucial role in:
Our design consultants frequently work with architects and interior designers in South-West London to ensure that blinds don’t just “fit the window”; they complete the room.
Bay Windows And Corner Rooms
Problem: Light from several directions. At least one pane is always too bright or too exposed to the street.
Controlux approach:
Period Frame Leaks And Cold Spots
Problem: Older timber frames and big panes can leave areas near the window feeling noticeably colder in winter.
Controlux approach:
It doesn’t replace insulation, but it definately softens that “cold drop” near the glass.
Street-Facing Rooms And Privacy
Problem: Front living rooms and bedrooms are very visible from the pavement or busier roads.
Controlux approach:
Home Offices And Hybrid Work
Problem: Screen glare, odd reflections and rooms that have to switch between “office mode” and “guest room” or “kids room”.
Controlux approach:
Help you choose colours and textures that feel professional on camera but still homely off-screen
One of the lesser-known benefits of well-fitted blinds is energy efficiency. In fact, a study from the U.S. Department of Energy found that insulating blinds can reduce heat loss by up to 25%, depending on the blind type and installation method.
